An issue aroused the feelings of people all around the World in the 2022 Oscars ceremony: Will Smith slapped Chris Rock in the face for an offensive joke alluded to his wife.
The Media from around the world reproduced the precise moment of the slap, but few noticed the wise phrase that Denzel Washington said to Smith after the incident.
After slapping Chris Rock, actor Denzel Washington came over to reassure Will Smith. There, he invited him to reflect and told him:
“Be careful in your best moments. That's when the devil comes for you."

Saint John Mary Vianney, the Curé of Ars said that the simple trick he always pull, when the devil wants to attack or make him sin is:

This means that when we can do something good, that is when the devil most tries to bring us down . However, even in the mistake, Christians have the possibility of forgiveness and amendment.

“ Violence in all its forms is poisonous and destructive . My behavior at the Academy Awards last night was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are part of the job, but a joke about Jada's (his wife's) medical condition was too much for me and I reacted emotionally .
I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris . I was out of line and I was wrong. I am ashamed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be . There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.
I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, everyone in attendance, and everyone who watched it around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams family and my King Richard family (referring to the “The Williams Way” movie crew). I deeply regret that my behavior has tarnished what has been a wonderful journey for all of us.
